May is the month of produce!

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Green, seasonal vegetables are abundant during the autumn months, such as broccoli, celery, cucumbers, kale, lettuce, spinach, and zucchini. There are also plenty of leafy greens available, like brussels sprouts, cabbage, and cauliflower.

Potatoes are a plentiful and washed potatoes are excellent for potato salads, roast potatoes and delicious mashed potato with your chicken roasts!

Hydro Lettuce is also a fantastic produce in Autumn coming back to its full strength with the produce betting bigger in size and quality. Pricing will remain up for another week but with Iceberg up in price this line is a fantastic substitute for a cheaper option.

New Season Shepard Avocados are fantastic this time of year. While technically a fruit, avocado is often used like a vegetable. A delicious way to ensure you are getting optimum nutrition from your fruits and vegetables is to make one a serve of avocado.

The unique combination of vitamins and minerals found in avocados can help keep your immune system fighting fit, boost energy, enhance brain power, build bone, aid gut health, support healthy skin and can even put you in a better mood. Basically, avocados make everything better.

Although thought of as a Summer fruit, watermelons are fantastic in Autumn. Delicious in fruit salads and cut up in pieces for the lunch box. Rockmelons are also perfect for Autumn and paw paws add that exotic flavour to Autumn fruit salads.
